Does an auto warranty plan cover overheating and wear and tear?

Investing in an auto warranty program is a good idea if you want to enjoy stress free driving. When you are shopping for such a plan, make sure you carefully look through several exclusions of the policy you want to buy. Most reputable and renowned auto warranty companies make their exclusions and inclusions concise and clear and have nothing that confuses a buyer. However, the fact that there are many companies trying to sale policies that have no clear terms and conditions cannot be denied. Hence, you should be cautious while shopping for a warranty plan for your vehicle.

Overheating and wear and tear are two good examples of this. Some companies exclude repair, even if it is not related to the overheating if there is a slight sign of overheat occurrence. Most reputable and leading warranty companies cover the failure of the covered as long as the negligence of the owner has triggered failure.  Owner negligence is when the driver continue driving the vehicle even after warning or gauges lights have come on. This will cause additional damage to the car from continued driving after overheat and will not be covered any warranty policy. In a nutshell, it is not overheating that a good auto warranty plan covers, it is the damaged to the car by the continued driving after the vehicle has overheated.

Wear and tear is yet another important factor to find out about when investing in a warranty plan. It is one of the main items that many shadier companies exclude. This is the coverage of the failed parts because of wear and tear. A wear and tear failure can be described as the breakdown of the part that has not failed completely however is not working in a way the manufacturer intended to. In simple words, if the covered has not fully stopped working, however has started to fail but has not stopped working completely, they might exclude it from the warranty plan.
